This research line groups studies related to the characteristics of biomass with potential for the generation of biofuels: physical, physicochemical and biological characterization of agricultural, forest or residual biomass; cultivation; genetic improvement, classic or molecular, of saccharine, oleaginous, starchy or lignocellulosic plant species; elaboration of progeny bank; propagation by plant tissue culture.
